A Backyard Games Inspired Wedding by Jessica Fike Photography

This backyard affair is personally a dream affair and a wedding I wish I was invited to! This crafty couple to DIY to an entirely new level by hand-wrapping individual books and creating corresponding bookmark escort cards. Seriously? Why didn’t I think of that! The couple also chose to keep their guests entertained with yard games such as bocce ball, hula hoops, and a handmade, personalized cornhole game. Thanks Jessica Fike Photography, for this gorgeous and memorable feature!

From the photographer, Jessica…

Even though they spent most of their wedding planning days in Alabama over 800 miles from their venue, Meagan and Jim created a seemingly flawless event with superb and impressive details. From the unique collection of yard games to the individually wrapped (and meaningful) book favors, the details set the tone for their elegant yet relaxed wedding. The details were full of DIY-ness and Meagan was very proud of what they had put together to make their day unique. There was even some added flare with a pasta station at dinner and a 1929 Chevy classic getaway car. Two of my favorite parts of their wedding was the sunset ceremony beneath a HUGE tree at the farm and the opportunity to take pictures along the Chesapeake Bay.

Favors: Meagan collected used books that had significant meaning, many were she and Jim’s favorites. Each book had a handwritten note from the couple and all were wrapped in craft paper and tied with ribbon. Placecards: Meagan created book tags with vintage-designed paper Menu Display: Old window pane that Meagan found at a Habitat for Humanity store Outdoor Yard Games: Handmade corn hole boards with the couple’s last name, hula hoops, bocce ball, paddle ball.

Classic Florida Wedding by Laura Yang Photography

Happy Labor Day, East-Coasters! We hope you are enjoying your unofficial end of summer. Our next gorgeous wedding comes to us from Laura Yang Photography. We love the classic red, white and grey color scheme and the bride’s amazing Melissa Sweet gown. So sad about Priscilla of Boston, right? At least we can still swoon over their timelessly gorgeous gowns in pictures like these.

From the photographer, Laura…

From her feminine eyelet lace Melissa Sweet gown (I melted when I saw that confection!) to the dainty garter that had been passed down from Nick’s grandmother to his mother and then to Kristy, from the groom and groomsmen’s striped bow ties to the homemade-by-a-friend wedding cake with the cute owl topper, from the classic rose bouquets to the oak grove where Kristy and Nick exchanged vows as thunder rumbled over the Atlantic, just a stone’s throw away, Kristy planned a wedding that will look just as beautiful and stylish thirty years from now as it did the day they got married, April 21, 2012. Kristy’s goal was simple, unfussy elegance, which always makes for a beautiful wedding. So do a stunning bride and groom — and Kristy and Nick made quite the dashing pair.

A Florida Destination Wedding by Mark Dickinson Photography

We love this wedding for so many reasons (and only by coincidence did this wedding take place during a tropical storm in Florida - we hope everyone in Hurricane Isaac’s path is staying safe and sound). The bright, beautiful pink color scheme seems to perfectly capture the fun loving Katie and Jeff and as pet adopters (Keri with her dog Cooper and Krista with her cats Calvin and Suzie), we absolutely love the inclusion of their dog in the ceremony and reception and favor donations to the Best Friends Animal Society! And those nighttime pictures in the rain by Mark Dickinson Photography - perfection.

From the beautiful bride, Katie:

We have been together for about 7 years, getting engaged in Cancun Mexico in April 2011. We absolutely adore Florida, so we knew we needed to have a destination wedding there! We planned an intimate and fun event with Tropical Storm Beryl as our special guest! We were supposed to get married at the Castillo de san Marcos, but due to high winds and random down pours we had both the ceremony and reception in the main ball room of the white room in St Augustine. In lieu of traditional Favors, a donation was made in honor of our guests to Best Friends Animal Society. Cheers to a world with no more homeless pets!

A DIY South Carolina Wedding by Chi Photography of Charleston

We have the perfect wedding to share with all of you beautiful East Coast Brides this Monday morning. A gorgeous DIY wedding, captured by Chi Photography of Charleston, with homemade touches that truly make this a special event. From the floral arrangements to the getaway car, Brittney, Wade and their families and friends helped to create memories of a day they will never forget.

From Brittney, the beautiful bride:

Wade and I were high school sweethearts. When we got engaged, I knew I wanted a cozy, antique feel for our wedding and Magnolia Plantation’s Carriage House was honestly my first and only choice. It was a labor of love, we did a lot of things ourselves; my husband illustrated and designed the invitations, my mom and I baked over 800 cookies for the cookie bar, and all of our wonderful friends and family helped with endless little jobs that sprung up along the way. My aunt surprised us with the 1929 Ford getaway car and our good family friend, Jenny did so much, from sewing the table runners and making the hanging floral arrangements. to creating the wonderful  bouquets and boutonnieres. Wade and I both say it was the perfect day.

Congratulations, Brittney and Wade!

River Farm Gardens Wedding by The Happy Couple Wedding Photography

This next real wedding is a quirky and fun, bicycle inspired, backyard affair submitted by The Happy Couple Wedding Photography. If you follow me on Pinterest, you know that I am a sucker for bicycles so this real wedding was right up my alley! I think I will be pinning some of these images myself! And if there is one thing I love more than bicycles…it would have to be brunch. Let’s face it, I could drink a mimosa any time of the day. Needless to say, this real wedding has it all. Enjoy!
