A Bold North Carolina Wedding by KMI Photography

Happy Friday, East Coast Brides! We are super thrilled to bring you this amazing North Carolina wedding to kick off your weekend, captured by KMI Photography. Our favorite part, besides the gorgeous property, stunning bride and adorable cupcakes, the red flowers against the white and ivory bridesmaids dresses - truly spectacular!

From that gorgeous bride, Linda:

The ceremony and reception were held on a private 14 acre property overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, Queen’s Point, in Wilmington, NC. The actual ceremony was held on the Point, for which the property was named. This simplistic Southern coastal home with its large oaks, decks, and private docks was a true reflection of us as a couple. I was accompanied by the “girls in white” wearing their own unique white dresses and turquoise and coral necklaces handmade by the bride. The groomsmen wore Tommy Bahama white shirts, khakis, and flip flops given by the groom. The wedding party sat on benches behind the bride and groom. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed strolling between the different food stations of chicken curry, bbq sundaes, fish pokey, ceviche, and shrimp along with Kevin’s infamous “rum bar.” Cupcakes, ranging in many flavors from pina colada to red velvet were served with milk cartons & straws. We fed each other the “bride & groom” fishes atop our cupcakes, followed with a swig out of a good ole fashion milk jug. The party began with live music and a dance floor that overlooked the waterway. We, along with their 200 guests, danced the night away under a full moon, only to break for a toast with mango rum shots. The night ended with sparklers and a breath-taking firework display over the water, as we departed by boat. The wedding party was trolleyed back to their beach houses in Wrightsville Beach. What inspired us: love for the ocean/beach/boats/outdoors (coastal living)! The look I was trying to achieve: all natural/casual, yet elegant/unique. We wanted the property to speak for itself, so did not want too many flowers/decorations. Simplistic underwater orchids, along with shells, sand, and coral decorating the tables reflected a natural yet classy theme.

Apologies for the overuse of adjectives in the introduction…I can’t control my excitement for the red and white with pops of turquoise. So unique and absolutely deserving of them! Congratulations, Linda and Kevin!

A Handmade North Carolina Wedding by Blue Frame Photography

Hello and happy Monday! We are kicking off the work week with this gorgeous handmade North Carolina Wedding, beautifully captured by Blue Frame Photography. This crafty couple made their wedding memorable for their guests adding personal details about Ashville, North Carolina, where they live. I also love how they included their dog, Kota, as the ring bearer. Too cute!

From the photographer…

Jay and Lacy brought a lot of detail that anchors around who they are as individuals as well as a couple. Lacy carried her bouquet in a silver bouquet holder her mother carried in her wedding. They used each other’s favorite flowers — calla lillies and tulips and included their dog, Kota, as their ring bearer. For their reception, they had five journals, each with a theme their guests could write in according to that theme. For example, one book was titled “How to be a Good Wife” another, “How to be a Good Husband” and another, “Great Baby Names.” Their family flew in from all over the U.S. and they wanted to gift them with a little taste of where they live in Asheville, so throughout the whole night, they did raffles and raffled off gift baskets filled with their favorite things about Asheville. They also did what they call a money dance in which they each raised money for their honeymoon by dancing with guests and whoever won didn’t have to do the dishes for a month. (Lacy won…. by a long shot). They definitely had a great party!

A Sweet North Carolina Wedding by RJSTILLS

It’s an art when photography is used to tell a story, and in these few images I feel like I know this beautiful couple and was there for their perfect day. Simple, sweet and full of love (and style), this is a wedding that truly makes our hearts smile.

From the photographer, Rusty, of RJSTILLS:

Pete & Kristen are salt-of-the-earth souls who just make you encouraged. They effortlessly cause you to, simply put, believe in marriage. They’re easy-going and easy-living and easy to love. And they took no less than one month to get in a car packed to the brim with wedding details, travel from one coast to the other, stop a few places to camp-out and visit with dear ones in between, and wed next to the ocean in one of the more beautiful ceremonies I’ve watched.

Congratulations, Pete and Kristen!

And who’s that stunning bride? Kelsey Childers did a phenomenal job and made our life easy behind the lens!

A Cape Hatteras Island Styled Shoot by Style by Design

Happy Friday, East Coast Brides! Styled shoots are the perfect way to give you a plethora of ideas for unique wedding details and decor this  Cape Hatteras Island shoot, created by Style by Design, will get you thinking outside of the typical beach color weddings. As the beach season nears it’s end, we hope you these gorgeous images, captured by Daniel Pullen Photography, inspire you.

From the designer, Amy Stanley:

My inspiration for this shoot was to create a southern beach chic wedding.  Typically people think of blues, greens, and summer when they picture a beach wedding, but I wanted to use colors that were atypical of this style of wedding.

An Elegant Family Garden Wedding by Mollie Tobias Photography

Good morning and happy Monday! I just love our next submission by Mollie Tobias Photography. This couple’s goal was to have their wedding images ”feel like you have happened upon a family garden wedding – nothing uptight or overly staged – just easy and effortless – simple and elegant” and these images most certainly reflect that. Enjoy!

From the photographer, Mollie…

The couple lives in Los Angeles, but has family in North Carolina which is why they decided to be married in Southern Pines. She loved the natural feel of Weymouth and that is why they kept everything neutral. The bridesmaids wore a soft teal and the groomsmen each wore a tan suit and neutral tie. The bride wanted all of the photos to feel like you have happened upon a family garden wedding – nothing uptight or overly staged – just easy and effortless – simple and elegant. Ragan made the bold move (especially for a wedding in March!) to hold the reception outside completely open air with no tent as a back up. My favorite quote from the bride is when asked to describe their relationship she said that she and Mark are introverts who make each other extroverts.

Sunrise Beach Engagement by ABJ Photo

I am a sucker for anything beach-y and this gorgeous sunrise beach engagement is no exception. Submitted to us by ABJ Photo, this e-session has it all- a gorgeous couple, fantastic scenery and amazing photography. There is not much more an editor can ask for in a submission. It just goes to show that when a shoot is done right, you don’t need a lot of props. Sometimes simple beauty goes a long way. Enjoy!

From the talented photographer…

Our inspiration for the engagement session was to show Donnie and Bethany in a location where they spent much of the early part of their relationship- Wrightsville Beach, NC! The two were both living down at the beach, and even met due to Donnie’s roommates. They love everything about the beach and spent many afternoons riding bikes to watch the sunset. Our schedule did not allow for sunset photos, but we were excited to capture some moving images during a peaceful sunrise. The beach was our own for the first hour of daylight, and the morning was certainly one to remember! Not to mention that Donnie spent many hours after work restoring the cute Carolina Blue bike for his Tarheel bride!!! It was a surprise for her the morning of our session! Donnie proposed to Bethany during a surprise weekend trip to Asheville, NC. They enjoyed the Biltmore Estate for the weekend, and Donnie popped the question in front of the home after a nice dinner.
