A Handmade New Jersey wedding by Jaye Kogut Photography

It’s Monday!!! I don’t know about you, but after an extremely busy weekend, it’s nice to sit and enjoy some amazing photos (thanks Jaye Kogut Photography) of a gorgeous wedding, and this one is right down our alley. Not only is it in New Jersey, our home state, but there are also so many handmade items that make us swoon. Just look at those bridesmaids bracelets!

From the creative bride, Teresa:

My inspiration was a blue bird I saw one morning sitting on my parents deck singing the most beautiful song to its mate. I love birds because most of them keep the same mate for life. And hearing the music the blue bird sang that morning just reminded me of the beautiful music Rob and I have made since we have been together. The cameo broach I gave my sister for her MOH bouquet I found looking on Etsy and it completely just gave me the feeling on me and her when I saw it. I knew I wanted her bouquet to stand out and I thought that broach just completely read “sisters” with the cameo of the two girls next to each other with whispy flowing hair and the other girl with the bird on her shoulder. My Earrings and bracelet from LolamBridal on Etsy BUT my inspiration for the earrings and bracelet came from the strand of pearls my grandmother left when she passed. She wanted all of her grand daughters to wear the pearls on their wedding day as she wore them on hers.

Congratulations, Teresa and Rob!

A Musical New Jersey Engagement Session by Betsi Ewing Studio

I love engagement shoots that capture a couple so perfectly you feel like you know them. A beautiful and stylish couple, Carolyn and Chris brought their passion for music to the place where their love blossomed. Betsi Ewing Studio perfectly captured their kind, warm smiles and true love for one another.

From the beautiful bride-to-be, Carolyn:

We wanted to do our engagement photo shoot at Rutgers Gardens in East Brunswick, NJ because it is the place we fell in love. Chris was an intern at the Rutgers Gardens while I was a Dendrology Teaching Assistant that would often bring my students to the gardens for class. The place is very special to us and we love spending time there. We wanted our shoot to be a relaxed, down home theme and to express our relationship. Both of us play musical instruments so we also wanted them to be incorporated into our shoot. Our photographers, Betsi and Dan, thought it was a great idea and were very accommodating from the start. They are both really warm, fun people that have a calming attitude that can put aside camera-shy jitters. We felt like we were all just hanging out and having a good time.

New Jersey Beach Wedding by Erin H Photography

Our next wedding comes to us from our own east coast state of New Jersey. This gorgeous beach wedding, submitted by Erin H Photography, is a lovely mix of both nautical and romantic. We love the beach-y touches, like the starfish wedding cake, combined with the softness of the beautiful peony bouquets. A talented photographer and beautiful bride top off the fabulousness of this beach-y affair.

From the photographer…

Where do I begin?! This wedding was so much fun, so gorgeous, so amazing…just so perfect in every way. I got to begin the day with Jennifer and her bridesmaids at an amazing house in Deal, NJ. This house was a photographers dream. There was perfect lighting, beautiful grounds and an empty living room that seemed to be made just for this day. With her gorgeous bridesmaids helping her into her gown, Jen just glowed when she was dressed and her eyes smiled when ever I picked my camera up to photograph her. Such a gorgeous bride! After their first look at Sea Bright Beach, we had the best time with her bridal party. It seriously was so much fun to work with them. Well, it wasn’t really “work” but more like hanging out with friends and making some amazing photos. Jennifer and Mike were married at Waters Edge in Sea Bright. After an ocean front ceremony in front of family and friends, the party began and didn’t stop until the very last song was played by the always fantastic NJs Best DJs. They truly are the perfect couple and I am was so lucky to be their photographer. Enjoy this presentation of photos.

From the beautiful bride, Gillian…

I didn’t have specific colors or theme in mind but I just wanted it to be springy, relaxed, fun with good food, drinks and music!

We got married in the church I grew up in, which was very important to my parents as well, and we chose to have our reception at the Maplewood Country Club which is the town where we bought our first house after we got engaged so we kept everything close by- we even had our Rehearsal dinner in our back yard. We have traveled a lot together over the last few years so we named the tables after our favorite places and included a few pictures of us at that city as more table decorations. We were primarily concerned that everyone would have a great time so we danced the night away on the dance floor with everyone else to keep the party going!

My favorite part of my wedding day was walking down the aisle, seeing Dan at the end and all my friends and family on either side of me. I was smiling ear to ear the whole way down.

New Jersey Autumn Wedding by Jenny Orsini Events

Good morning and happy Monday! Today we have another perfectly styled, New Jersey wedding submitted by Melissa of Jenny Orsini Events and captured by Jeff Tisman. Like any true Jersey girl, this bride loves a little sparkle- just look at those shoes! This glamourous, autumn wedding took place at the coveted Manor in West Orange. This popular New Jersey venue is booked years in advance. Keep reading to see why!

From the beautiful bride…

Being able to have the wedding ceremony outside was so important to us because we loved the ambiance of the grounds, and I was so thankful for no rain. It was a definitely a chilly evening, but I was so numb (from excitement!) by the time I got down the aisle to Brian. It was so beautiful, like a dream! It was incredibly romantic and our guests really loved the setting. Seeing every detail come together was just amazing. The pictures say it all!

From the event designer, Melissa Loiacono…

Jamie and Brian found venue perfection when they chose The Manor in West Orange, New Jersey, as it provided a unique mix of the traditional, with a touch of rustic elegance.
Having a wedding in October typically throws a couple into the traditions of a fall inspired affair…leaves, warm apple cider, and orange and red color palattes. Well, not for Jamie and Brian!
The wedding design was consistant in its array of of vivid yellows and marigolds, paired with the sleek look of charcoal grey. Yet, it played a distinct role for each location…vintage and rustic for the evening ceremony, and sophisticated elegance for the reception. The gardens were exquisite for the ceremony, with wrought iron archways of ivy, white pumpkins and submerged orchids. Chrome lanterns, birch branches and candlelight worked beautifully on their tabletops, with modern platinum pintuck linens, and bold room uplighting for the reception.

Jamie and Brian are an incredibly fun and boisterous couple…not afraid to show you their silly and sentimental sides. Having a photobooth was a must for Jamie and Brian…a chance for their guests (and themselves!) to let loose and have a keepsake of the fun their guests had that day. It was very important to have special touches incorporated that were truly meaningful to them as a couple. The couple’s dog, Brody, was a large part of their life, and they lost him to cancer shortly before the wedding. Jamie found a way to bring Brody into the day with a gift of custom cufflinks bearing his picture for the groom. From the sparklers for the guests to light as the couple became husband and wife, and the personal songs for her ceremony processional, to the super sparkly shoes for the bride to strut in as she walked down the aisle…every detail was executed so their guests could walk away saying “This wedding was definitely Jamie and Brian’s!”

A Nontraditional Jersey Shore Wedding by Kristina Hill Photography

Cocktail hour before the vows? An anti-beach wedding that takes place at the Jersey Shore? Our next real wedding submitted by Kristina Hill Photography features a nontraditional couple with a love for all things vintage and gorgeous. Every detail of this wedding was handpicked and coordinated by the bride herself. We love her unexpected style and elegant and rustic result!

From the beautiful bride, Noelle…

My husband and I are not a traditional couple so we wanted our wedding to reflect that. We are fun, my husband the serious one, and me, the silly one gives our relationship a unique balance. Enjoying what we put together and spending time with our guests was our main priority. We held our ceremony after our cocktail hour which surprised many. We wanted to be a part of our wedding, not just show up for the reception. We made sure to have our favorite things at the wedding, especially behind the bar. We had pitchers of homemade Sangria, Rose Champaign, Miller High Life Nips, and our guests’ favorites as well.

It is hard to just pick just one theme for our wedding but it had to feel airy, comfortable, and definitely not traditional. I wanted an elegant, rustic, garden party, with a beautiful antique feel which was easier than I thought to pull off at the beach. Our venue was a beach club but I didn’t want a beach themed wedding. Since September is still a warm month I wanted the groom and groomsmen to be in light colored suits. The grey worked not only for them but also for our two sons. Peach was our secondary color and I was able to incorporate it with the flowers, men’s accessories (ties), and wedding favors. I didn’t want traditional flowers so I asked my floral designer to pick flowers in a peach and cream and add lots of different textured greens. All of the centerpieces were finds from different garage sales and flea markets that I had visited that summer. I gave them to him in boxes and asked him to make it look as if they were just placed on the tables and not “arranged”. My husband and I compromised on our wedding party’s attire. He chose the suits and I gave the girls the option of picking their own dress in graphite grey. I only asked that they wear different colored shoes that popped!

{Gorgeous Autumn Wedding} : Katie and Sean

Happy Monday! I know, Mondays are not usually happy, but we have so much to share with you on this lovely day - we are just bursting with excitement! Our vendor guide, which has been nonexistent, is going to launch next week, starting with our home state of New Jersey! We want to guide all of our east coast brides to choosing the perfect vendors and we couldn’t be more thrilled! (I can’t stop using exclamation points)!

And to celebrate, we now bring you a New Jersey wedding to cheer up your Monday morning blues. Gorgeous bouquets, amazing details, a beautifully happy couple, images by one of our FAVORITE photographers, Vanessa Joy, and the cutest dog. And did I mention the dog is in a tux?

From the beautiful bride, Katie:

Our overall wedding theme revolved around fall since it was the first day of Fall 2011 and it is our favorite time of the year. I love deep fall colors like brown, red, burgundy, yellow, and orange and tried to use these throughout the décor.  I coordinated everything from our invitations, programs, menus and place cards with a fall feeling and the same color scheme.  Our ceremony took place at The Palace in the Grand Foyer and included two trees with fall colored leaves and hanging candle votives.  The rest of our reception décor included fall tree inspired center pieces with circus roses, mango calla lilies with tiny pumpkins and gourds throughout.

The most memorable part of our wedding day for me was the “first look” with our family and bridal party present.  It was the only time during the entire day where I felt a little bit nervous.  Sean was waiting outside for me and I walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder, he turned around and had a huge smile on his face and told me how beautiful I looked.

Seriously, though, your Monday morning just got a little better with all this beauty, didn’t it? Congratulations, Katie and Sean, and thank you Vanessa Joy Photography for sharing these gorgeous images with us.
