A Carefree Georgia Engagement Session by Odalys Mendez Photography

Today’s engagement session, soft, carefree, and romantic, was perfectly captured on film by Odalys Mendez Photography. We love  the stunning Georgia estate and Jennifer’s style (especially those amazing boots).

From the photographer, Odalys Mendez:

Jennifer and Ryan grew up in this 48 acre estate in beautiful Georgia, and wanted to incorporate their laid back, nature-rich lifestyle in their engagement session. The result was relaxed and organic. Their great dane Harley joined them for a few shots but roamed around the expanse of land the rest of the time. Jennifer requested to incorporate a red antique chair that holds sentimental value to her, so we set it amongst a field of purple wildfowers. Film was used for this session to help create the soft, pastel hues to go with the organic landscape.

A Sweet South Carolina Styled Shoot by Perry Vaile Photography

We love when a gorgeous styled shoot comes our way and this South Carolina beauty, perfectly captured and styled by Perry Vaile Photography, is sure to impress and inspire. From the fields to the simple vintage-inspired decor and fashion, enjoy the charm of the south in these amazing images.

From Perry Vaile Photography:

Sweet, sweet Carolina. Where the unpaved back roads lead through fields of cotton and tobacco, and the weathered old barns stand up strong against years of exposure. It’s where every southern girl gets her charm and spunk. This is what I wanted to showcase in these images. A special (colorful) twist on a good ol’ backyard Carolina wedding. From cherry pie to raspberries - old maps and packed suitcases, this is a little slice of the East Coast served up and hot outta the oven. These two models, as well as the makeup artist/hair stylist, and the photographer are all NC natives, so this was a shoot close to our hearts!

From the photographer…

We set a date for Liz and Justin’s engagement session and just hoped for the weather to behave itself since we were having a string of crazy weather this spring! So of course I was freaking out when I was driving through a giant storm on my way to the little island of Key Biscayne to shoot their beachy lighthouse session. Literally less than half of a mile away where we chose to do our session is right where the edge of the storm was, so we were left with some amazing images with gorgeous sunlight with intense storm clouds in the background. That’s Florida weather for you! I absolutely love the energy that this couple brings! Laughter, having fun, and being open to new ideas (even crazy ideas like the photographer telling you to run into the ocean and roll around in the sand) creates a great experience and outcome for engagement sessions.

Playful River Engagement by Paperlily Photography

This next engagement session comes to us from Paperlily Photography. The only thing better than a couple this drop dead gorgeous and in love is a couple that is not only strikingly beautiful but also super fun! This is not a stuffy couple, let me assure you. We love their fun and rustic inspiration for the shoot and their charismatic personalities just shine right through the images. Perfectly captured by Paperlily Photography and second shot by Shannon Blackwell of Southern Lights Productions,  this is one shoot we definitely won’t forget!

An Asbury Park Engagement by Luna Blue Studio

Todays engagement session, from the fabulous Kristina of Luna Blue Studio, holds a special place in my heart. On Saturday, I had the opportunity to capture the amazing wedding of Christina and Wes with Luna Blue, and was truly touched by the love this couple has for one another. You will not be able to look through these photos without smiling, especially when you see little Quentin - that smile lights up a room!

From Kristina, the photographer:

“What’s meant to be, will be” - that sort of embodies this couple and their story. They were each other’s first boyfriend/girlfriend in middle school! After high school, they lost touch and went on with their lives. As fate would have it, one day as Christina was working, Wes wandered in. They looked at each other for a moment, giggled and blushed, and the rest is….well, history. And as for Christina’s son, Quentin, he is bright and witty…inventive too! He came up with several great photo ideas as we were shooting! He has such a silly disposition but can be perfectly serious at a moments notice. He loves his mom and Wes so much, in such a beautiful obvious way, and is not afraid to show it. Seeing them all together is a blessing.

A Central Park Engagement by B Hull Photography

We love featuring weddings and engagements from our neck of the woods, and this is straight from the gorgeous Central Park. B Hull Photography did a marvelous job capturing those intimate moments between Leandro and Amanda, so obviously in love!

The proposal, from the beautiful bride-to-be, Amanda:

We went to our favorite Mexican Restaurant for an early dinner on a Wednesday. I was really tired from a long day/night at work and didn’t really want to eat but he was pretty persistent. We ate our meal, had some drinks and he asked the waitress for another round. He seemed nervous throughout the entire meal and I was confused as to why he was so pushy for another round of drinks. Needless to say, he had the ring in his pocket the whole time and on his way to the bathroom he slipped the ring to our waitress who then put it on the straw of my drink. I didn’t even notice it until the waitress was still standing there smiling at me. I thought she was just being nice so I politely smiled back before going in for my first sip of the new drink. I saw the ring and began to cry! He was so happy that he didn’t say anything to me but kept on smiling! I waited a moment for him to ask me and he said, “Amor, will you marry me?” I replied, “Yes!” “Yes!” “Yes!” The waitress was smiling as were the others watching the entire event play out. We called my family who already knew about the great news!

Sunrise Beach Engagement by ABJ Photo

I am a sucker for anything beach-y and this gorgeous sunrise beach engagement is no exception. Submitted to us by ABJ Photo, this e-session has it all- a gorgeous couple, fantastic scenery and amazing photography. There is not much more an editor can ask for in a submission. It just goes to show that when a shoot is done right, you don’t need a lot of props. Sometimes simple beauty goes a long way. Enjoy!

From the talented photographer…

Our inspiration for the engagement session was to show Donnie and Bethany in a location where they spent much of the early part of their relationship- Wrightsville Beach, NC! The two were both living down at the beach, and even met due to Donnie’s roommates. They love everything about the beach and spent many afternoons riding bikes to watch the sunset. Our schedule did not allow for sunset photos, but we were excited to capture some moving images during a peaceful sunrise. The beach was our own for the first hour of daylight, and the morning was certainly one to remember! Not to mention that Donnie spent many hours after work restoring the cute Carolina Blue bike for his Tarheel bride!!! It was a surprise for her the morning of our session! Donnie proposed to Bethany during a surprise weekend trip to Asheville, NC. They enjoyed the Biltmore Estate for the weekend, and Donnie popped the question in front of the home after a nice dinner.
