{Keri’s Wedding} : DIY Invitation Suite

I crossed another big item off of my never ending to-do list: Send Invitations. In honor of the occasion, I thought I would share my little project with you this week. A few weeks ago I blogged about my invitation inspiration here and here. Finally, I chose one inspiration and decided to emulate it.

*Invitation inspiration from etsy.

I ordered the actual invitations on wedding paper divas - and got 30% off. I decided to swap out the plain, white envelopes for pink & grey ones, and I ordered grey & white baker’s twine. I designed a monogram on picnic (RIP picnic), and I was ready to go.

I enlisted the help of bridesmaid and BFF, Carly.

I’m happy with the result! They give off the vibe we are hoping to achieve and I was able to make them for a great price.

{Keri’s Wedding} : The Venue

For the past few weeks I have been blogging about my romantic, garden inspired wedding. We’ve talked inspiration, color palette, and accessories. Such a huge part of my inspiration is our beautiful venue. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, our ceremony will take place in a church. After the ceremony and some photos (we are opting not to do a first look, but more on that in another post) we will continue to The Madison Hotel for cocktails and the reception.

The Madison Hotel

This beautiful hotel offered everything we wanted for our garden party affair. It is old and stately, and has a fantastic reputation, but the best part of this venue is that we don’t have to celebrate in a stuffy ballroom with no windows.

Our reception will take place in the oh-so-gorgeous conservatory.

{Keri’s Wedding} : Dress Inspiration

I haven’t spoke much about my wedding dress, which I bought last summer, from a little New Jersey shop.  And while I can’t share too much on the blog, I thought I would share some inspiration I gathered during my search for the perfect gown.

I promise to share more details after the wedding!

{Keri’s Wedding} : 3 Month Bridal Beauty Regimen

This week marks the 3 month mark until our big day. 3 months is significant for many reasons. Most of the big things are booked or handled, so now it is time to focus on the details. While it is still too far out to worry about some things {like seating charts and escort cards} it is the perfect time to start thinking about bridal beauty.

I read here, that it is important to start a facial regimen 3 months before the big day, and to get one facial each month before the wedding. This week, I went for my first, wedding facial.

In addition to skincare, here are some other things I am starting to think about in terms of bridal beauty.

*Diet: Not necessarily dieting to lose weight, more like choosing proper foods- nothing too greasy or fatty.
*Exercise: In addition to blogging about weddings, I am also a runner and personal trainer. It is definitely time to start thinking about how I am going to tone up for the big day. Stay tuned for some exciting news on this one! I will be taking you all along on my bridal bootcamp adventures!
*Hair Care: I have stepped up the quality of my usual shampoo and conditioner and have added Moroccan oil to my daily routine. Hopefully this will leave my hair looking healthy and shiny.

{Keri’s Wedding} : The Ceremony

Maybe it’s because July is rapidly approaching, or maybe because most of the big things are out of the way, but lately, I have been thinking a lot about our wedding ceremony: the church, vows, readings, etc.

Our ceremony will take place at the church I grew up going to. My grandmother was married there and my dad also grew up going there. Tradition is very important to me and this church holds a special place in my heart. My best friend and I even had a double sweet sixteen party in the church’s parish hall.

{Keri’s Wedding} : Aqua & Blush

I have known for a long time now that our wedding colors would be some form of pink and green. The pink we are using is blush and now I am working on narrowing down the exact shade of green. Aqua? Mint? Grass?

Here is some inspiration I gathered from around the web.

East Coast Bride Photo Session by Kristen Driscoll Photography

Last week, Krista and I met with New Jersey photographer, Kristen Driscoll of Kristen Driscoll Photography / Love Me I Do for a fun little session in the New Jersey beach town, Asbury Park. We had a blast at the shoot, but, you see, we are used to being behind the camera, not in front of it. We put Kristen to work that day and she nailed it, getting these fabulous shots, out of two very camera shy editors. Here’s part one. Let us know what you think!

Thanks Kristen! We had a blast!

{Keri’s Wedding} : Accessories

This weekend I got to do something I was looking forward to for months…my first dress fitting! Of course, I can’t share too many of those details with you just yet, but the dress fitting got me thinking about the rest of my wedding day look…mainly, the accessories!
