A North Carolina DIY Wedding by Windy Peak Photography

By Krista

We love starting the week with a gorgeous DIY wedding, complete with a brooch bouquet, hand-painted guestbook, and four-tiered cake created by the bride. Perfectly captured by Windy Peak Photography, we know you’ll love this DIY North Carolina affair!

From the creative bride, Mai Linh:

We wanted a wedding surrounded by love; our families and friends are everything to us and we really wanted them to be a big part of our wedding. We love things that are personal and meaningful, so we tried to create lots of things on our own. I saw the idea of a brooch bouquet in a magazine and fell in love with it.  So I collected brooches from all our family members and my mom and I put it together. We ended up making all our stationary, (the save the dates were especially fun), the fabric balls for the pews, my flower hairpiece and shoe clips, the gift bags and the favors. I painted the “guest book” and made the wedding cake. My Grandpa was an amazing cake baker and he taught me everything I know about baking and decorating cakes, so I really wanted to make our wedding cake in loving memory of him.

Congratulations Mai Linh and Jeremy!
